Full-Time Emergency Veterinarian Mentorship - $110K First Year + Relocation Assistance

Advance your career at our state-of-the-art, non-profit, AAHA-accredited and VECCS Level 1-certified teaching hospital. DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is seeking Veterinarians to join our new Emergency Mentorship program. Whether you are a new grad or a seasoned veterinarian seeking to transition into emergency medicine, we want to connect!

The primary goals of this program are to help you become skilled at patient assessment and care and build diagnostic and treatment plans in an emergency setting. You will also learn how to navigate through complex in-hospital cases and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. We emphasize teamwork, compassion, and fair treatment of staff at all levels. We view solid mentorship in a real clinical setting as a critical step to becoming a successful emergency veterinarian.

“DoveLewis is a great place to grow - let us help you! Every DVM we have is welcoming and willing to help, whether it be lending a second pair of eyes on some radiographs or helping you unblock that difficult cat. You are never alone when working through cases and caring for your patients.” – Lindsey McGuire, DVM

This mentorship program is a three-year opportunity with your first year focusing on a combination of didactic learning and hands on clinical work including achieving individual learning goals under the supervision of our DVM Mentorship Director. As you progress through your first year your independent responsibilities will increase while maintaining access to the support of your mentor and peers. After successfully completing your first year you will transition to working as a Staff Veterinarian with ICU training during the second year and full responsibilities by your third year.

DoveLewis is more than an amazing hospital, we are also a non-profit with a 50-year history of building a collaborative community that is dedicated to serving every animal and every person who cares for them. We offer funds to help low-income families, lost pets, abused animals, and wildlife in addition to our community outreach programs including our onsite blood bank, pet loss support program, and Canine-Assisted Therapy & Education. We are advocates for pets and their families because we believe that every animal should get the care they deserve.
