DoveLewis Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is hiring full-time entry level Veterinary Assistants (Level 1) to join our Surgery Team. We are currently hiring for Overnight Shifts.
As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant (Level 1), you will be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the surgery department, assisting with surgeries, and post-operative care. This position may also perform work as a Veterinary Assistant 1 in the ICU or ER.
A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.
Wage: $19-$22 hourly, plus overnight and weekend differential for applicable shifts.
Schedule: Veterinary Assistants (Level 1) work 3/4 rotating schedules with 10 hours shifts. This means you have a consistent schedule that makes planning the rest of your life easy, and you get 3 or 4 days off in a row every week! What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Experience or education equivalent to a High School Diploma
- Valid Oregon or Washington driver's license for driving the DoveLewis transport van is strongly preferred
- 1+ year experience working in animal care work such as at a veterinary clinic, kennel, shelter, or animal daycare
- Experience working in sterile fields
- Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above
